New South Wales Section Founder’s Day Luncheon 2006
Thirty Old Blues, partners and friends enjoyed a luncheon on Sydney Harbour aboard the ship Captain Cook 2000 on Saturday 28th October 2006. There was a strong easterly wind, which discouraged taking the pre luncheon, drinks on the open deck but the Harbour was a fine sunny site with lots of well-reefed yachts racing.
Attendees were brought up to date on the progress of their various presentees and were advised that five persons had underwritten another Governorship. They were also brought up to date on the proposal to present a Wollemi pine tree to Housey to mark the appointment of the first Australian Headmaster. The pine dates from the prehistoric period was only known from fossils until a group were rediscovered a few years ago in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. It is hoped to make a presentation in June next year.
NSW Old Blues would like to thank the enthusiastic assistance and co-operation of Richard Churchman in relation to this project. Richard is the Grounds & Estate Manger Grounds at CH.
