Two Old Blues reach the summit of Ama Dablam in the Nepal Himalaya

At the peak of Ama Dablam in full sun Rob Gauntlett and James Hooper (both Ma B, Gre E 98-05) reached the summit of Ama Dablam (6856m) in the Nepal Himalaya, probably the most important step along the way to becoming the youngest Britons to climb Everest, which they hope to attempt in April/May 2006.

In the climbing world so often dominated by older climbers it is an incredible achievement to build up this kind of experience and climb such a technical and exposed peak at their age (both 18). Do take a moment to visit their website www.everest-2006.com for news, itinerary and photographs.
