Christ’s Hospital Maritime Association , formerly the CH Cruising and Sailing Club

The current Commodore, Professor David Taplin, is handing over to David Eastburn at the beginning of May and the name of the group has been changed to the Christ’s Hospital Maritime Association to embrace all those with a love of the sea whether boat-owners or not.

David is keen to encourage young Old Blues to try some offshore sailing. Now that the YOBs cruises are run by Mark Stevenson aboard his magnificent yacht Outrageous, any interested Blues should contact him directly by email (mark.stevenson@aae.ch) or, if they want to know more, telephone David on 01326 374237. These cruises cost nothing other than a contribution towards food, fuel and moorings.

We hope, also, to arrange some coastal meets for OB boat owners – perhaps this year, just on the south coast. Possible venues are Falmouth, Torbay/Salcombe/Dartmouth, Solent area. Anyone who may be interested should get in touch with David on the number above or by email to davebythesea@aol.com.

Finally, it is our intention to try and keep a register of all OB boat owners globally. In some ports, it may be possible to have an OB representative to meet and greet any visiting OB yachtsmen and help with advising on shoreside facilities, Volunteers for this pleasant duty should let David know by phone or email.
